Jozani Forest Tour Itinerary

Discover Zanzibar’s wildlife and nature in a guided eco-tour

Tour Duration: Approx. 2.5 to 3 hours

Location: Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park, Zanzibar

Departure Time: Morning or afternoon (based on preference)

Pick-up Area: Hotel pick-up available from most areas in Zanzibar (upon request)

08:30 AM – Pick-up from Hotel (Optional)

Meet your guide and depart towards Jozani Forest, located in the central-eastern part of Zanzibar.

09:30 AM – Arrival at Jozani Forest Gate

Enter the Jozani-Chwaka Bay National Park and get briefed on the rules of conservation and the importance of this unique ecosystem.

09:45 AM – Nature Walk Through the Forest

Enjoy a guided walk under the cool canopy of mahogany, pandanus, and eucalyptus trees. Learn about native flora and fauna, some used in traditional Zanzibari medicine.

10:15 AM – Encounter with Red Colobus Monkeys

Watch and photograph the endangered Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkeys up close. These rare primates are used to humans and often seen jumping through trees or foraging near walking trails.

10:45 AM – Visit the Mangrove Boardwalk

Take a scenic walk along a raised wooden boardwalk through the mangrove forest. Learn about the mangroves’ crucial role in coastal protection and marine life habitats.

11:30 AM – Optional Butterfly Center or Spice Farm Visit
